My mother, rest her soul, used to say, "the squeaky wheel gets the oil". I'm very sorry to hear that the occults got nerfed in that manner. I also liked the build items, but made the conscientious choice to not purchase those packs. I didn't want the occults in my game. I was very glad when EA separated the Aliens from the Occults in Sims3. I never got a rocking chair until Sims4, as a result.
I don't play the Occults, but I recognize that many players build their games around such lifeforms. I did my best to avoid witches back in Sims2, which wasn't always possible. I tried to avoid the vampires in Sims3, but my male Sim had to make friends with a co-worker in order to achieve a promotion. Who knew it was a vampire? I didn't. He was the Best Man at my Sims' wedding, which was held outside. The day was very bright and sun-shiny. He suddenly died as there was a slight delay in the ceremony. That's how I learned he was a vampire! Oi! I'm very glad that EA does recognize not all of their customers/players like Occults.
Far be it from me to purchase a pack and then complain, loudly, about it so that something gets dramatically changed and spoils it for the others.
