A ton of bug fixes with some kind of game overhaul is my guess for new players who are getting the game for free. They want too impress new players who will get the game for free so I think there really trying to fix all the games issues and bugs before it’s released as free.
I think the big update is going to get new people excited about the sims and it’s going to pave way for a more exciting Sims game in the future, could be the sims 5. Or an online version. I think this big update to the game will have somewhat of a teaser to what’s to come for the next sims game. Much like how the sims 2 final expansion was apartment living if I’m correct, that kind of hinted that the sims 3 would be open world.
Because an apartment complex suggested closer living and visiting. They don’t want new players getting the game for free and not be excited about it, so I think their willing to do something big to the game if they think they will get a higher fan base and more people are excited for the sims 5 or next sims game. What the big update will be I speculate will be an overhaul on the emotions or add more personality and probably fix the broken wants and fears. I think they will definitely add something to spice up the game.
If they don’t, even if they get new people to play the game for free if they realize the game is bland with hardly any depth and it’s a buggy mess people probably won’t invest money in DLC. Not to mention be excited about a new sims game. It only makes sense there going to do something to make the sims 4 more fun or interesting at the core base to get New players and old players hyped up for the current game that’s still got some life into it and the new game mechanics will hint and transfer to what’s to come for the next game.
I don’t think we will hear or see anything about the new game until the summer of 2023. Other than they might come out and say we’re working on it and it’s going to be great and fans are going to love it. But I don’t think will see a reveal for it, like a teaser or trailer until summer 2023. And I don’t think it will release until late 2024 or early to mid 2025.
