So I’m editing the premades in one of my saves and when I get to the Munch family, I read the description. It says that Mila raised 3 children with one refusing to move out but I was confused because I only saw Lucas and Wolfgang. So I just shrug my shoulders and proceed to go into CAS. Then the thought pops into my head: “If Mila and Gunther are brunettes, why are the kids blonde?” And then: wait... I clicked on Gunther, then household relationships and I facepalmed. What?!?! Gunther is her son?! I always, always thought that Gunther was her husband... I facepalmed myself so hard... Oops!

I had this reaction when I found out Johnny Zest was a disowned Landgraab child.

Two brunettes can have a blonde child if both of them carry the genetics for blonde. For Lucas to happen Mila needs to have genes for brown/blonde (giving her brown hair) and her husband for black and blonde (giving him black hair). They passed down black/blonde to Wolfgang (his eyebrows are black, so I assume black is his natural, undyed haircolor) and blonde/blonde to Lucas. Admittedly this is Sims 2 style genetics, but it shouldn't work too differently irl.

I thought she was kind of desperate because I saw her around all the time and she settled for that snooty guy that spends most his time at the coffee shop but at least she wasn't alone....lol.

Yeah, I always thought he was her husband too, so I had a shock when I was also makeovering him. I don't think he even looks the same person now after the makeover which I feel bad about, I want to makeover him again with how he originally looked. He doesn't even have the same name, but I'll keep it changed because all I think of when I hear Gunther is the snooty twins(?) from shake it up lool, Gunther and Tinka. Nothing wrong with the actual name though, but it's just my connotation.

That's recessive alleles for ya, though if I remember rightly there's only a 25% chance of it happening.
