Her first name is Alia. One thing is for sure, this little girl will be getting a new last name, not sure what it will be, but it won't be that.

LOL. It's pobably a more or less normal name in some culture. Just very strange in other corners of the world. I'd need to replace it, too. Or I'd spend way to much of my gaming time on checking my spelling. I think many cool cultural names were added with City Living. Might even be the name of someone on the EA team, I think they added the programmers' names to the name database back in TS3.

I wish there was a setting for those people (like me) who would prefer the game to use particular type of names in its generator - like English names. Literally 99% of the names generated I can barely even say.It can't be too difficult to have a setting so that we could choose say, Amercian, English, Chinese, Indian, Polish, Russian etc etc and then have maybe 80% of names picked from that default.

I believe City Living is responsible for the new variety in names, but I find the new names seem to be taking over with my townies, rather than representing a proportion fitting to the city population. @elanorbreton It would be very nice to set those proportions ourselves. Hopefully it becomes an option at some point. There are mods, but I don't like to play with too many mods and they don't seem to work well enough for me to add one permanently to my game.

I always get Hasegawa and Ishiko. I hope the CL names get toned down a little. Having said that, I REALLY wish my game generated about 80% fewer homeless sims because it's so frustrating trying to keep tabs on who's who. In one of my worlds I started changing their names and clothes to better fit my world and even moved a few into houses as I'd deleted the default sims and just put in a bunch of sims I'd created but more homeless sims just end up being generated. My game cannot possibly require THAT many homeless sims.

Wow what a name! I think the Sims devs just do this so we will have a good chuckle. And I agree, the City Living pack really started to throw my names for a loop!

Wow. I didn't think TS4 let you make names that long.

Also, I actually quite like the City Living names. Before I got thr pack half the female sims I met had the name Sally.
