I sort of do the same thing. I look back at whatever sim lived in a specific house fondly. I still use the house for other sims because I always start in the same save (the one I share with the community) but I separate saves and attachment. When I play multiple generations, I typically try to move other generations into the same houses their parents started out in. It's my way of pretending the previous generation still owned the house and passed it on to their kid. I don't always do it because I choose a world that I think would fit each sim but a lot of times they start the same place their parents start.
