I kinda feel like the little veil is because they didn't want something that would clip when sims kiss cause you're not likely to change mid ceremony

but they could have added more basic behind head kinda veil like this but sheer or poofy or something

someone didn't really like the Indian dress for some reason saying the decorations are inaccurate.

Pretty sure the gal is Indian but the dude is chinese. The wedding set is more Chinese but I'm pretty sure the gal is still Indian.

Unfortunately longer veils are going to be hard to pull off cause of clipping. I imagine at most we may get 1-2 hairstyles tied with a veil.

This veil is tied only to that dress.

They said in the livestream that there are two veils coming attached with the long hair, one in white and the other is coloured.

I will wait until I see everything first as I don't even think we saw all the hairstyles and other items yet in full details. Sure it would be nice to have more veils that has color swatches and aren't alpha/cc. But I don't mind the birdcage one and I can live without them as I already been doing so since the beginning of the game. It would just be a nice extra touch.

So not 1 but 2 longer veils but none for western players makes no sense to me. Especially after seeing the medium length one. They could have made a similar one but attached to a hair instead of hijab. I originally thought they didn’t make one for clipping issues but obviously that’s not the case.

we need more veils...it looks like I'm going CC shopping for veils.

I came here to say the same thing. I was happy to see at least one (!) long veil in the trailer and now it's tied to this dress. Why oh why didn't they add this as a seperate CAS item, even if it has to be a hairstyle. I mean they already have the 3D moddeling and textures. Would it have really hurt them to add in one long veil to be used with any dress?

I imagine due to issues of clipping, that veil clings to the shape of her dress, and the length of the veil interacts with parts of outfits hair doesn't normally interact with.

Likewise, it has to be attached to the hairstyle as when a sim wears a hat, it either cuts off all hair above the forehead, or all the hair completely. Since hairstyle come in different shapes and sizes, it would mean any veil would clip or float on most hairstyles.

It's one thing to download CC that clips and floats - that's downloaders discretion. It's another thing to have it as part of the game officially. When these clippings do happen in game, it is unintentional and should (hopefully, but in reality occasionally) be patched. It's also probably why we didn't get any huge puffy meringue wedding dresses either.

I assume veils just weren't as a high priority compared to other CAS assets.

I do recall reading in the booklet that came with the sims 3 ambitions collectors edition that the most popular style of CC hair was female, long and wavy, which is probably why they focus more on that style of hair in game, and why if they had to choose length and style of hair the birdcage veil came with, they chose that style.

I should probably repost my pics of the veils from the Sims 2 Celebration Stuff and Glamour Life Stuff, cause it's very relevant to this thread.

We had veils that could go almost waist-length (well, one of them) 15-16 years ago. Sure they were also attached to hairstyles but at least they looked nicer I'd say. And the latter one is from a pack that wasn't even centered around weddings.

That's Cassandra Goth by the way, I adore her in Sims 2.

I see no problem with hair/veil clipping, because brides don't normally wear their everyday hairstyle in their wedding anyway. I'm no expert, but I think spending 2-3 hrs with a hairdresser is quite normal. Sooooo, would we really protest if veils only came with up-do hairstyles or a few styles arranged shorter to avoid clipping? Nope. Do we ask for 500 veil versions? Nope. Do we say it's weird that we don't even get *one* veil attached to a certain hairstyle? Yup.

*If Agnes Crumplebottom could have her own hairdo with her little hat, so can we with one veil*. :)
