Okay this Evil Chicken, fill me in

I don't know I've never experienced a truly evil chicken in my game. I had one that was disgruntled for lack of attention that pecked my Child Sim as she attempted to sprinkle food for the chickens, in general. You may just wish to make a copy of your save and give it a whirl. Then you can come back to let us know what happens?

Kill any visiting sims (some of my sims just start talking to the trees and livestock when they're just visiting the active household)

What other benefits are there besides the ability to have obsidian or midnight items and that it will fight for your home
Does it die or will it fight death even for itself?

I'm mostly worried when visiting sims come over and like to socialize with the animals and I'm not in control of them

Evil chickens can kill your sims or npc sims if provoked, in fact all chickens can if you perform enough mean socials or you insist on petting or hugging them with a low relationship bar. The first time they attack, the sim will emerge dazed if the sim is again attacked by the chicken with the moodlet from the first attack still active they will die. In order to make the cowberry jam you combine with the obsidian egg to make the midnight treat you will need a cowberry, you don’t have to plant the cowberry though which would grow a full cow plant.

Evil Chickens are more likely to lay Obsidian Eggs (if they are a hen and not a rooster). You can also ask them for Evil Chicken Help. While Evil Chicken Help is active, your Evil Chicken will protect your home from foxes, household enemies, vampires, and even the Grim Reaper! (Copied from SimsCommunity)

@GalacticGal I've had some irritable chickens that might peck occasionally but this particular chicken is the result of being fed a midnight treat (I think that's the name) and, similar to getting the golden chicken, and becomes an evil chicken with certain powers. One of them is the ability to kill and protect and while protect is cool I'm certainly nervous about the whole killing part with visitors who are animal enthusiasts. Seems like a recipe for possible disaster but I'm thinking about doing a seperate save just to really explore HOB because I play 40 rotations in this save
I'll care less if it kills those npcs ?

Evil chickens are not very fighty in my game at least but that might be because i give them lots of love and they're always clean and fed

for me it just seems that they do not really cause death as much as they protect from death :)

I also noted that my elder cow stopped aging and wouldn't die when I had evil chicken and golden chicken

I'm not completely sure if cow was under evil chicken protection but i think so cause golden chicken just seems to ugprade all and everything it sees

It felt like their was a bug with evil chickens and the reaper at the start where they would get stuck in a loop of the reaper trying to make friends with the evil chicken and the evil chicken would not like that and attack the reaper and then the reaper would never reap. Does that still happen if the evil chicken powers are still on?

Your sims has to be mean to the Evil Chicken in order for the sim to be killed by the Chicken. I have a dark Vampire sim with an Evil Roaster that never got attacked by it.

Not that I know of.

My evil chicken's have been no different than my regular chickens. I created a bunch of them to help me fight off Grim, but even when they do, Grim always takes whoever he came for.
