Okay, What Do I Have To Do?

I thought sure CL came with the interaction, make animal treats. I have clicked on stove and fridge, went through the whole list of fridges and there is no make animal treats. Did something happen to make it go away or what do I have to do to get to make animal treats?

  • You can obtain animal treats by purchasing them from Agnes and Agatha’s garden stall in the Finchwick district of Henford-on-Bagley or winning them by participating in the Finchwick Fair, held every Saturday. You may also receive animal treats as gifts from wild animals like bunnies and birds.

Once you’ve obtained an animal treat and fed it to an animal for the first time, you’ll unlock the recipe to make that treat yourself in your notebook. You can check the notebook at any time to see what animal treat recipes you’ve unlocked and what is needed for each recipe. You can make the animal treats by clicking on the fridge and selecting Create Animal Treats.

  • @bshag4lv even if you have the ingredients you won't be able to make the treat until you give that specific treat to an animal. Another way to get treats is to buy them in build/buy mode.
  • @bshag4lv No. You can find them by either typing in the name of the treat in the search bar or by clicking the drop-down menu on the right-hand side of the b/b screen (just above the items) clicking on "packs" then clicking on "cottage living"; that will show you just about all the b/b items in the cottage living pack.

If your sim gave her llama a treat but she can't make it (when she *should* be able to) it could be mod related. First, I'd remove your mods folder to your desktop then go in the game to see if it still happens. If your sim can now make the treats that you're sure she knows then it's most likely a mod issue. Then, if you downloaded any mods recently (say within last month) I'd try removing those then going back in the game. If she still can't make them then you'll need to do a 50/50 check of your mods. You can also try repairing the game to see if that fixes it (I'm sure you already know all this, but it never hurts to have a reminder just in case :)). You can also check AnswersHQ to see if anyone else reported the same issue. If they did you can click the "me too" button.
  • As far as I know you have to discover the recipe in-game to unlock it. Animal treat recipes are a reward for doing errands, for example.
@Starfree your suggestion is intriguing, are you getting those using the cheat code that shows unlockable objects? or another cheat?
  • @mightysprite I learned the recipes by simply giving the animal a treat, even ones I bought in b/b. And no cheats. Just type, for example, animal party treat in the search box & it should bring it up (pic is like a feed bag). As for the other way there's no cheat involved there either.
  • @bshag4lv in doing some searching I found an Answershq thread for this problem. In it someone who had the same problem discovered that the fridge would only recognize ingredients bought at the grocery stall in H-o-B for making treats. Maybe try buying the ingredients there & see if you can make the treats? Also, do you have the recipes in your notebook (they need to be there)?

Thanks so much simgirl! I've added that site to my favorites.

Another question, suppose you have all the ingredients for the treats but the option doesn't come up on the fridge's menu. That's the problem I have, but I will double check just in case it's user error. :D

I didn't know they were in b/b. Would that be under Decorations?

That's my problem. My sim gave her llama the flirty treat, given to her by a bunny, so when I went to make the flirty treat, the option on the fridge was grayed out...they were all grayed out and she knows at least a couple of more receipes. I don't know but what it was caused by another mod. If everyone else is having no problems, I need to look at my mods.

I have no trouble buying them, which is what I do. I have SrlySims' great grocery mod, which is the main suspect. My problem is I love this mod so much, if it is the mod, I will suffer and only buy treats from stalls. This is an awesome mod.

Yup, unfortunately I have had mods for many years and I know and have practiced the fine art of discovering which mod is the offending one...but thanks for the tips anyway. <3
