I've played since Sims 2 & quit playing 2 years ago b/c I thought I probably was getting to old. Well several months ago I decided I don't want to grow up anymore & started playing again. Anyway I instilled the love of Sims with my daughters so why not granddaughters? lol! With the crazy sale, I took the plunge & purchased Sims 4 & have a a question as it downloads. I purchased the following: Base, Get Together, Go to Work, Spa Day, & Outdoor Retreat. Obviously I am used to expansion & stuff packs but what is a Game Pack & what is different about it vs expansion/stuff packs? Where's the Sims 4 store? Can we use points from Sim 3 store in 4's?Thanks a bunch!!Angela

Hi Angela!Game Packs and Stuff Packs are essentially the replacement for the TS3 Store, so there is no store for TS4 and points from TS3's store can't be used for TS4.Game Packs offer new gameplay, and focus on a central theme.http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/expansionpacks/In regards of game packs in relation to expansion and stuff packs, theyre smaller than expansion packs, and larger than stuff packs, offering more items than a stuff pack and a gameplay item, and then offering less than an expansion pack.

Heya.Game Packs are a new thing to the series and are like an in-between of a stuff pack and a full on expansion. They generally have a theme with objects around said theme, but add much more gameplay to it. For example, Outdoor Retreat is all about camping, herbalism, and the great outdoors. There is no Sims 4 store, the numerous stuff packs possibly acting as such now. Sims 3 points can't be used for Sims 4 purchases.Happy Simming and I hope you find enjoyment in whatever you play. GPs are a smaller condensed version of EPs. They focus on one theme. And have more animation objects. While the SPs also focus on one theme, it's more like just one room and only come with a few build/buy objects and maybe 2 or 3 CAS objects. The GPs basically took the place of the Sims 3 store. And no, you can't use points for any Sims 4 purchases.

I'm sitting on 6300 SimPoints myself. It would be cool to trade them in for Sims 4 stuff, since it's highly unlikely I'll ever go back to Sims 3.

I, too, am an 'older' player. I have eight, soon to be nine, grandchildren, the oldest turning 15 very soon. Married 42 years, I love the Sims. They help keep me sane when the world and my life goes topsy-turvy. Having a blast with Sims4, most recently. Love the restaurant addition. Yay!

@Evalen Seems you're a tad older than me, or got started sooner than me. But I love how you crack me up. Keep On, Keepin' On!

ETA: Welcome back, Happy Simming! You're never too old to play. Enjoy. We do what we have to do our whole lives, now it's time to play. :)

@GalacticGal good for you nine grandchildren how nice, You are truly blessed. I know what you mean that the Sims help keep you sane. It is a fun time to relax and just play and let the world go by. You have a great simming day.
