On what sort of a community lot does a Cinema work best for you ?

Nah, I mean the cinema is in the retail category cuz the whole mall is under retail. Although there's not a lot of people there cuz they're all busy shopping at the clothes shop and the playing at the arcade. XD

I have a few different cinemas, both as bar and cafe.
Depends on building style, it works and looks just right with one that looks like a factory building, most of 1 floor is the cinema part and a tiny bit on the 2 floor is the bar, another one is a outdoor theatre.
The last one is a cafe on the first floor, lots of people but most of them stay in the cafe area.

in summary, more sims watch tv in bars, but there are more sims on a cafe lot

I mean, unless you're against mods, I would definitely say just set it as a cinema lot with this mod.

I use it in my game and it works pretty great, personally. Lots of sims show up & they do what they're expected to do: watch movies & eat things.

yeah, those are the problems with the cinema set up

i want some sort of functioning cinema
it's clear that retail & bars function since they have the functionality coded

it would have been great if with the movie pack there would have been a community lot funcitonality of a cinema
but well ... no expectations on my part anymore :tongue:

You can set it as pretty much anything. If the screen area isn't busy then make a movie buff club to liven up the place.

@Cinderellimouse I like your idea, I might try that. I have a out door Movie Theater, I did put in a popcorn maker and drinks in the Ref. I have it as a park, and put in a playground for the kids and chess. It works well. Many do come and they sit and watch a movie. I do like the Movie stuff pack, in fact I love Game pks and stuff pks. I like that they are a nice price. Opps I don't us mods or CC. but your theater sounds nice.

You could do it without the bar too. It works well selling the popcorn and memorabilia in a retail venue and it works fairly well as both a customer and business owner. I had this Sim who used all his money to buy this old, run-down cinema. He lived upstairs in the office! And he was doing quite well from popcorn and poster sales (you can use the movie posters that came in the patch and the movie pack). Sims would autonomously go and sit down and watch the giant telly too.

I've just been looking at the Voidcritter cards from Kid's Stuff and I'm definitely going to add them to my cinema shop!

I might try your idea of running an outdoor one as a park as well. It'd be great if we ever got cars!
