I can sim with it.
Having played fake occult cat sims, the tails were very important to me since they are fur-less and only have cat ears, fangs, eyes, and body markings to show they are cat sims. But I have seen the clipping situations with those tails and understand why the Sims Team bobbed them for werewolves.
