I think that if you want to play with the theme, this is a great pack. I'd make sure that you have an idea of what you'll do beforehand. I had been waiting for a countryside-themed pack and the English setting is actually right up my alley so this was a no brainer. I've kept myself busy making my own characters based on the pack theme and then playing them as they live in the new world.
Probably my only real complaint is that they should have fixed the general gardening bug that came with EL before releasing this. It means that flexibility is limited because you can't farm the broken old plants, only the new ones. For simple living, that complicates things too. Even so, I still like the pack. The new world is excellent throughout all of the seasons. There are varied things to do. It makes for a very fun setting.
Re, bunnies: I haven't played with them that much yet but you can befriend them and they can help with gardening if you build a relationship up. Cats might scare them off. Chickens and cows have a lot of gameplay. I haven't tried llamas. Chickens are susceptible to foxes, need tending, age and pass on. You can breed your own stock of chickens and gather different types of eggs. Foraging varies throughout the year.
I haven't played the village tasks much. Mainly I've added mostly my own sims who interact in the gorgeous new world. Farming, festivals and the pub along with outdoor activities add to what you can do in the world. I like the extensive outdoor settings. Also, some of the houses are basically perfect. The one that starts as a vacation rental in Bramblewood is pretty much my idea of a perfect house. Obviously, I'm probably going to move some lucky sims in there full-time.
