Origin Game Repair Takes A Long Time - What's Changed??

Has anyone noticed that repairing the game takes a very long time compared to how short of a time it used to take? A game repair used to take maximum 10 mins and that's with all the packs installed. ...

When I did my repair last night, I canceled out of all the packs in the queue, and had it just repair base game. The last time I did a full repair (two patches ago, I think) it used up my whole system and I had to crash out of Origin and restart my computer to do ... more or less anything when it was done, and I've been nervous about doing repairs since.
