The shift-tab key goes into first person mode for me though. Which is the default behaviour.
I went and tried it and z and x do nothing in the game. So the zoom function is broken, as is 1st person view, despite removal of mods, despite game repair, despite even a full uninstall and reinstall.
There is no way for me to zoom other than clicking on the + and - in the UI way up in the upper right corner, or dragging the button which means, no way to use zooming fluidly in the game, period. And no first person at all either.
I was hopeful z and x would work because as horribly awkward as it would be for me as a lefty, to have to learn to use the touchpad with my right hand instead, so my left could be on the z and x, at least that would make it *possible*.
but now, I'm out of options. I just wish I had an explanation or any hope of a solution for this. If a complete uninstall reinstall, game repair, etc can't fix it, there's really nothing else to try. And this all started with the the most recent Origin update.
Okay I have one more idea: uninstalling Origin and reinstalling it, and every Origin game.
