  • There are a few ways I've found to deal with paparazzi.

    1. Get a dog, and develop your sim's skills enough that they can sic the dog on them. This works every bit as well as one might imagine.
    2. If you are a spellcaster, turning them into inanimate objects works nicely. The paparazzi will be very uncomfortable and quickly leave the lot once they return to "normal." The Spectral Reach perk makes this even more convenient.
    3. For vampires, paparazzi are a convenient source of snacks, rather than a nuisance. They do not have the common sense to avoid registered vampire lairs.
    4. If you have a teen in the household, just have them do their homework, and ask the paparazzi for homework help. By the time Extra Credit is done, the paparazzi will be good and ready to leave, and it frees up the adults to do other things. Does not work as well with child sims, as their homework takes far less time, and they have no Extra Credit option.
    5. Provided there are no underage sims on the lot, if you get a pararazzi who is Squeamish or a Snob, it's possible to drive them off by insisting on interacting with them in the nude. (This takes a bit of time, but it's probably the funniest way of getting rid of them.) Being Shameless is a good idea if you're going to do this, or you may end up as Embarassed as they are if they decide to photograph you.
    6. Werewolves can simply terrorize them with ferocious howls, and they'll decide to go home fairly quickly.

These are all good suggestions but I don't want them just walking into my house in the first place but I don't want to lock the door and give a key to every person I invite over either.
My daughter invited over 7 of her classmates and I was confused as to why they weren't coming in the house until I remembered that the doors were all locke.

I don't much care for them either, when they're on a sim's home or business lot, mainly because they steal things. Unfortunately, without using mods or cheats, all that can be done is to lock them out or deal with them situationally. I won't intentionally harm or kill sims, and I generally avoid being cruel to them, but I do make the occasional exception to the latter when it comes to paparazzi. Were it not for the fact that they are all kleptomaniacs, I would not bear that level of hostility towards them. (In a sense, having them all be criminally inclined or criminals makes an interesting statement about the profession, which was an unusual choice.)

In TS3 I had a paparazzi camped out on my sim’s doorstep that died from the heat because he was too dumb to give up and go home. A little weather manipulation might be in order. Take away their summer clothes then turn up the temps with a weather machine ?

I think the Paparazzi read the forums because I haven't had a single problem with them entering the house since we started this discussion.
Thanks everyone, we scared the. Off!
    ? ? ? ? ?

:D :D :D I'd be scared too to be fair!
  • Oh, but half the fun of having a famous Sim is the Paparazzi. If they don't hang around, that's when your celebrity needs to worry. Yes, they can be a pain in the fundament but I've had some rather hilarious moments when they barge right into Erik's dorm room and ask for an exclusive interview, when he's fast asleep! I also love how they seem to be able to snap pictures through the walls. I do play with the three-quarter wall, although I try to snap my own photos with all walls up, unless that doesn't work. But it's a true puzzler how their cameras can pierce through the sheet-rock of the walls. Taking photos from the room next door to his. :open_mouth:
