Paranormal stuff-Will they nerf it?

I don't considered opt in nerfed or deserving of it. You don't nerf the electricity in your houses by installing controls to it, just when you actually limit it directly.

But, yeah, it certainly doesn't deserve one as of yet. Not only do you have to change the lot type, but click through the tutorial warnings. Nothing can help people that choose to play it when they hate it and still complain.
