I don't have any definite answers to this but I'm bumping it because I really want to know too! I totally forgot about the relationship thing.
I'd imagine it works on number of interactions. So if you want to have authoritative parents, you need to do X actions. And then from there you'd just have to keep the majority in authoritative. But again I'm not sure.
