if you do nothing with the sim the child will get three out of four good traits it should be harder to get those instead its hard to get the bad traits it should be the other way around

That does seem *sort of* realistic. Children growing up in a household like that can learn to be responsible and polite and keep their emotions inside in order not to get yelled at even more, and mistreatment and lack of care like that will make it a lot harder for them to learn empathy, though they may also adopt it a bit from peers so it might not be the absolute lowest. Though whether that style of parenting to get kids to behave can count as parenting skill is debatable of course.
I am not sure how they would fix the parenting skill thing for my sim but it is something I find unimmersive. I do agree that lots of things can help parents increase their skill but my sim only tells the kid to clean up. The rest of the time, she uses the mean interactions. And she hardly is home to even be there for the kid. I intentionally am trying to make her the horrible step mom but her parenting is at like 5 right now which doesn't really make sense. And yea, I know why the kid loses empathy since he gets yelled at a lot but it isn't lost fast enough. Also, the rest of his traits are further in the green then the one in the red and I feel like that is unrealistic to. He is worse then neglected and he still will probably get 4 good traits by the time he is an adult.
