Parenting Tips & Tricks!

So, today I was playing sims. My sims family consists of a couple, a cat & dog, and two daughter (toddler & child). The couple started watching romance and things happened, but now the wife’s pregnant with twin girls! I don’t know how people actually parent so many kids! Ok, but anyways, I was considering just giving up on the save but I held back and decided that because I was getting so attatached to the couple and current two daughters I would perserve. I though about how I was going to do this and thought up the idea that we should make a parenting tips and tricks thread! So, here it is :) On this thread, we can give other simmers advice for raising children :)

  • If you have multiple toddlers, potty training one while getting the others to watch helps raise the skill for them too. I read about that somewhere and tried it out when trying to get triplets potty trained in time for their birthday. One sat down on the potty and the other two watched, then put one of the other two on the potty and got the siblings to watch, etc. It saved me from having to constantly sit all the toddlers down when they didn’t need to go and they all finished the skill in time for their birthday!

Also, if your adult sims read to the toddlers, when they age into children and do the Whiz Kid aspiration, the two hours of being read to by an adult completes automatically.
  • I've been trying to get into playing more here recently. I decided to not use cheats but I had aging turned off and worked on finishing one career and maxing some skill points. I used aspiration points to buy traits to get the seldom sleepy and hardly hungry traits. Once the sim was pregnant I turned aging back on, having those traits have been a life saver because this kid can't keep a regular sleep schedule
