Update tomorrow. Don't forget to back up your saves and make sure you're offline if you don't want your game to update.
If updating also back up your saves and don't forget to remove your Mods folder.
What's the best way to back up your saves? Any official how-to's or unofficial advice out there?
Just make a copy (or move) your saves folder and your Tray folder from the sims4-folder on your computer. I have a folder on my desktop called back ups that I use for this.
If you have mods, it's good to do the same with that folder, at least until the modders has had time to fix what the patch breaks.
