I mostly use it for background stuff I can set and forget about. It has a config file that stores your settings, which will keep them the same across updates, as long as you make sure to keep track of the file when updating, which is nice.
And there's just a lot of different helpful and interesting stuff it can do. It might be a bit overwhelming and take some time to set up certain settings, but once you've got it set up, you can kind of just ignore it and pull out its functionality when you need it.
I'd recommend skimming the documentation on it if you're wondering whether you'd use it. Might give you an idea of whether it's the kind of thing you'd be likely to use. Hard to sum up how extensive some of its features are.
