- FriendlySimmers10 years agoSeasoned AceOp you should see this like this if your sims are reuploaded and downloaded then this means your sims are popular
- pepperjax123010 years agoSeasoned AceSo exactly what do you want us to do if we upload one of your sims and then that sim has a family that you never created. Do you think that is fair to get credit for the family?
- It was the two of my sims Maxis has feature , my description, where I also say there are no cc,but the sim did not look like mine anymore, had cc hair and clothes, but it said created by me,and I got a comment on it that why I said it was no cc when they could see it was.

I went inn to the Sims 4 gallery website and # my name, and I found out that some of my sims where re uploaded, changed, but still had my name on,and my text, where I always write no cc, because I don't use cc .I guess it is not possible to stop people from re uploading others and my creations sins it is there on the internet, but I should at least be able to delete it when it is there with my name on it!!! :s
I actually take them as a compliment. My sims are being reuploaded every single day (literally, they don't even bother changing the hashtags) I used to get annoyed but in some way, they like my sims enough to do so :)
I can't take it as a compliment when my work is destroyed and it is a lie.. when my sim is change like that, my name and my text should not bee there"pepperjax1230;14602539" wrote:

No, because I did not created the family, and then you should not upload the family in MY name..but in YOUR name, but you could write a comment about that special sim that he/she is not made by you,but by me that would be really nice of you ;-)"PinkSugar81;14602572" wrote:
When I share sims/lots to the gallery I do so knowing there is a high chance they will be re-uploaded altered by someone else and thats fine with me. I don't share the ones I don't want to be modified or I want just for myself.
So you think it would be fine if it said it was made by you, with your description on it,but it is nothing like what you made?- gtgirl199910 years agoSeasoned VanguardI had somebody copy my sims and claim them as theres I did DM a guru on here and never got a responce turned the person into EA nothing happend I don't care if people use my sims but for gosh sakes give me credit for it don't do it to be mean which I believe it was done in my case

Another reason you might find your somewhat altered creations uploaded is that people like me make backup copies of sims and lots. This allows me to move sims between different saved games, and it protects my most beloved sims and builds if my game crashes.
Yeah, when I moved computers I wanted a fresh save but I wanted some of my favourite characters and lots so I used the gallery to transfer them. I did flag them as transfers and I don't think any of them were made by others anyway but I admit I didn't even think to check. :)
*Edit:
Also, as someone who doesn't upload things to the gallery with the intent to share.
Doesn't EA tag it with the original creator? Thereby forcing them to have given you credit.- leo348710 years agoSeasoned Ace

1 - It's why EA trys with the hash tags on the uploads and why they will delete or used to delete reuploaded/plagiarized creations if there's a reason.
2 - If I draw something it doesn't belong to the paper company nor the pencil company. EA can use, everyone can use if uploaded- that's what the upload is about. REuploading with credit is what everyone hopes for in this game- and not to see Maxis favoriting what was reuploaded by someone else.
This is mostly what I've observed from other iterations of the game. Not necessarily what the lawyers would say.
1) From EA's side, there is not reason to remove it, not against their rules or against The Sims rules
2) The difference is, sims are for only use into The Sims game, share only at gallery (if well EA also allow sims be shared out of gallery). Your drawing at the example, you can use it for commercial propurses and claim copyright on it - Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do. You could try to report it for plagiarism if that option still exists and somebody might come and take down the offending upload but I wouldn't bank on it. It's something that has always happened here and it is something that will continue to happen no matter how much effort you put in to try and stop it.
Does it suck? Yeah. Is it unfair? Yeah, but it's par the course with uploading here or anywhere on the internet. If you're not OK with somebody taking and displaying your hard work in their name then you shouldn't upload it to a public space because it'll happen.
The only way to keep something truly yours is to not share it with anyone else.
