I'm guessing it's just the nature of the two different CAPs. TS3 had those layers and stuff so what parts came and went was easier for the game to decide. I kinda wish you could layer in TS4 too then markings would pass on more easily. I don't even think custom markings on top of the presets are inherited unless it's with the coat it was originally painted on but I might need to test that out more. As for the presets, I suppose it's a bit more realistic. The same breed can produce any coat that's typical for their breed when bred together but leans more toward the parents' coats and variants of those. I actually don't mind that but the custom coat thing does sadden me! Ah well. Maybe we're lucky and it IS a bug. If not then. . . Hm. Mod potential? I dunno.
