PETS and their care

How do I have my Elder sim take her dalmation/bulldog to bed? The pup is alone, in the living room, during a thunderstorm. :( Furthermore, How do I get her to stop leaving her puppy outside!?!
TYIA for answering my questions :) I really appreciate the forum!

    Maybe try putting a pet bed in the Sim's bedroom and/ or when the storm happens, have her calm the puppy - the option to do that should be in the Friendly interactions. As for leaving the puppy outside, under Pet Care, there should be an option to pick up the puppy and than you can have your Sim bring the puppy indoors. Maybe install a doggy door as well, the puppy will be able to come in on it's own.
