I can't speak for MWS' system, but in Vanilla I remember just needing to invite guests, pick a spot, and have a cake ready. Most of it is very much a "you thing" with regards to if you have certain attire you'd prefer they wear, and how the venue is set up.
To be honest, I haven't used the wedding system in years. Always an elopement, if required. There's so much you can do to emulate the real process or create your own pre and post-ceremony gameplay experience. When Wedding Stories came out and everyone was having issues, I wondered if I could create my own emulation that others could follow, allowing them to skirt around MWS if they had it, or the vanilla if they didn't want a mandated experience. Even crafted a story alongside it, but suffice it to say I enjoyed every moment.
A Wedding and A Story
Very cool! I'm impressed! My partner and I aren't marriage people either. We have been together for a decade and plan to be together for life, but I think if we got legally married it would be a relationship killer lol. We're together because we choose to be and we want to be - not because we're legally obligated to be. We feel that is more committed than actually getting married. Just personal beliefs, no one else has to share them! And I do support everyone who wants to get married, I support whatever people want to do in their relationships. Just like I 100% have never wanted kids, but I support people who do. So...yes. Hm. Anyway.
