Plate of food stuck and invisible now in a room!

Question

So I'm playing the Spencer Kim household, and I was trying to make that room on the 1st floor that's in the far corner a private office for Eric by locking the doors for everyone but him, but somehow Olivia still managed to get through, she was eating and when she got up to was the dishes she went to that room because there's a bathroom there! Well she didn't make it there and she just stopped and the cereal bowl in her hands disappeared as if she was putting it in her inventory. However the bowl wasn't in there and everyone seems to be trying to get to the bowl but they can't. Also when I tried to make Olivia walk out of the room she waved her hands in the air and the feet bubble appeared signifying that she can't leave, so yeah how did you get in there in the first place!?

Anyways, I've even tried to delete and remove the surrounding areas, walls and even floors and still the bowl doesn't appear! Is there any kind of cheat that will help me get to it!?

Have you tried deleting the whole room? Also it's possible that it's a temporary glitch, try restarting your game and see if the issue persists.

I've found that if a sim is already heading to a room while I'm locking the door, they are able to get in but then they are stuck in there.  As for the plate, do you have any shelves on the wall?  I once used the wall shelves from Island Living in a kitchen and after playing for a bit I raised the walls and the shelves were covered with stinky plates and glasses.  Lesson learned:  if I use shelves in the kitchen I make sure to add decor items to all the slots.

Have you checked behind the computer, decorative objects and on top any half walls?

It's a common glitch in the game. @RedShoe7 got it right. If Olivia was routed to go to that room before you locked the doors, she would get through. Definitely check all the item slots on furniture. however, I highly reccomend just bulldozing the lot and starting over if you still can't find the dish. Other simmers have probably uploaded their OG house on the gallery if you need it.

I have found that all I need do is one of two options. A) Send a Sim to clean up or B ) go into build/buy mode and from there grab the stuck item and remove it. I've had a few 'floating' plates from time to time.

As you can see this one was stuck in the walls!
