Platforms are difficult!

Put your walls up and go up to the next level, click on the rooms and you should see a yellow highlighted area, click add ceiling on the yellow highlighted part.

Has anyone tried to knit something after adding a platform inside? I have a platform for the bedroom and in the living room area I told my sim to knit something and she can't. She has both the basket and bag in her inventory.

She's probably just far too excited about her new platform to focus on knitting. She doesn't want to drop stitches :)

I did not grab the patch yet, but I know in previous building sessions, what I though was a room turned out to not be a room. It might cause the ceiling issue above. I normally fixed that bu clicking on the floor to see the room borders, then either adjust/move the "invisible" walls, or delete that room and add a new room. I often struggled with this when we got the module stairs. Might be more tricky when the room/house is already equipped, but replacing the room should fix most ceiling problem if there is no easier way.

I go up a level and there isn't the yellow line. just empty space. I'm wondering if it's because I joined the walls to make the living room. so the game doesn't see it as another room. it isnt snowing in my other rooms. here are the pics.

another problem is leaking when putting up wall paper or any other wall covering. I have to do them individually or they leak from outside to inside. has anyone else noticed see the first pic, that you cant place anything next to a platform from another room. I had to use my ALT key to put the fridge there.

You can use the custom room tool to define your living room as a room. It's the wall tool that let's you go from point to point. Sometimes what looks like a wall is actually a stand alone room that it's not part of the actual room you're seeing.

I'm really furious with EA right now. The patch broke another one of my builder sims. I spent 2 months getting most of her skills to level 10 and the patch broke her. I just tested it and I downloaded one of my sims that has no knitting skill. I took the knitting bag out of her inventory and put it into his and he was able to knit. That's the second builder sim EA has managed to break with their patches. Grrrrr!!!

Use the wall tool and build all the walls around the outside of the building in one drag, don't use the arrows to slide the walls over to connect them. You might have to put doors, windows, etc back on but it should then register as a room.

I wish the snow would vanish in build mode. I can't use glass roof or windows which are my normal trick to see what I am doing under the roof space or in tight spaces.

Can you use a weather machine to change the weather? I have a similar issue when trying to take pretty pictures Sulani and it rains for days and days. :lol:
