I bought the collectors edition many many moons ago when it released, think it was $140 <3

I think its pretty smart to make the base game free after so many years and the release of so many kits, stuff, game and expansion packs. Way to go EA I say ;)
More simmers and they will definitely want to upgrade with new packs as they start loving the game :)
