Happy for everyone that hasn’t gotten the game because they weren’t sure. Now, they can give the game a try!
I’m hoping this gives them time to work on refreshes for many packs. They definitely figured out occults when the Realm of Magic came out. I think it’s time they revisit Get to Work, Island Living, and Discover University. There are a few occults that could use some attention.
Maybe, if a skill tree isn’t possible, new interactions or new places to explore would be nice!
Underwater venues/lots for Merfolk, new in-water activities for merfolk, and if possible, a skill tree for merfolk is the minimum I would be looking for!
Aliens and Servos might need attention too. They aren’t the major occults I play with, but still.
I choose to be hopeful and optimistic.

As for the Sims 5, I’m not getting that game if it’s ultra-realistic or doesn’t have merfolk in it. I got the Sims 4 when Merfolk became available, and that’s not going to change for the Sims 5.
I think how I put it in another thread is the best way to express it here:
“It’s not a secret that I feel like they could have done more with ts4 merfolk. I chose to buy the sims when Island Living came out because of merfolk, but it was the ts3 merfolk that got me interested in the franchise because of the underwater gameplay and a few other gameplay elements. When they made merfolk in the ts4… it really didn’t meet my expectations when compared to the expectations I had from the ts3 merfolk. Still, I’ve invested too much time and money on the game… And I’m at a point where I know I won’t buy ts5 because of my experience with ts4, but I’m also not about to stop playing ts4 either.”
How they handle The Sims 4 could make the difference between a successful launch of The Sims 5 and a complete failure. People will be looking at their experience playing The Sims 4 before they buy a sequel.
As for me, I’ll continue playing the Sims 4, but I know that I won’t be buying the Sims 5 right now.
After a quick google search and looking at the “leaked” content and reading the articles. I’m happy that the Sims 5 rumors are just misleading spam. The articles stirring up rumors even say that nothing is confirmed and possibly no Sims 5 is on the way. A lot of the articles are outdated too.
But, what I have seen of The Sims 5 “content,” I’m not impressed.
