I didn't know until recently that our own, playable sims could become infected by the virus. My test sim managed to avoid it, but I've seen pictures of other player's sims who were not so lucky. So, I'm curious, what is gameplay like if your sim becomes infected?

Mine went into the spore hallway without suits last night. They were knocked out and then infected temporarily. At that time, the only actions you have are to walk around. Once it wore off after 20-30 sim minutes, my Sims were back to normal. Not sure how that works with the fruit, but I might have to try that next. :D

If you have two infected sims in the same household, they get special conversation topics with each other (and also with their mystery plant in the backyard). All they can do besides chat is sit, but I was also able to send one to work. It's not a good idea, because his performance there suffered. Oh, and they can also plant new mystery plants on their homelot (no need to have fruit in your inventory).Also I play with free will off, still the one infected attacked another sim on his own accord. They weren't in a conversation, just in the same room. Infected playables also attack other infected, when those are not in possessed mode at that moment.The two sims both ate a mystery fruit (for science, hem, hem) and their possession episodes return randomly lasting 3 hours each time (as opposed to the 30 minutes you get slapped with in the corridor).

I haven't seen all the interactions because it's side play but still.Oh and just in case if you have a new born.. not sure if it's a good idea to just have an infected adult in the household as they can't care for the baby. I guess that's a spoiler and frankly for a baby to be taken away in that instance would make sense but I can see people getting upset about it.I'm planning on making a sim that has a "herd" of infected basically a cult leader type also but I'll save that for later. I also want to play on the dark side and go another way for the story end...

Ok, I enabled kids to get infected lool. The infected walk and wander animation isn't working though, kids do their normal walk.. every other interaction does work.. standing idles and sitting idles too.

It's hilarious. It comes and go. Seems like infected sim can communicate with other infected sims? At least, mother seems to take care of her children. All their needs are in the green. Praise mother, lol.

I nearly peed myself with laughter with what happened in my game a few hours ago, I was sitting all my Sims down to dinner with Mac and Cheese and then I hear them all making noises, I thought they were being sick because of the Mac and Cheese that my husband Mark made, but no, they were being possessed at 1am, while sitting down to dinner, what the plum? :joy: I wish I had pictures to show you all, it was hilarious.

There is one important point:

Possessed Sims can't fight against the mother, even if they are healthy when the combat begins. You have to cure them first. This was a very bad surprise for me at the end of the game!

Having 8 Sims in a household all being possessed together at 1am is the funniest thing ever, you must try it, it is so hilarious.
