Please fix the Goths, especially Alexander!!

Whenever Alexander ages up to a Teen he looks absolutely not good looking. Why did Maxis ruin the iconic Goth family like this? Please fix this in an upcoming SDX drop, this is not it. Since there currently is no way to replace household Sims with a new version of the particular Sims in that household directly from Gallery without replacing the entire metadata of the household, a re-revamp is necessary. This is unacceptable.

I am African American woman who has older mixed older siblings and has mixed nephephew.I want to write this in a respectful way.

I think it was bad oversight given Alaxender,Cassandra the same skin color SAS thier mom.I have no problem was the skintones being darker .I do have an issue that it was the same skintone as thier mom.The children are mixed, and as a result they should not have the same exact skintone as either of thier parents. They should have a skin tone that is more in-between.

Ideally Alexender could have a skin tone closer to his dads in remescent of sims 2,but still way darker in comparrison.

Why Casandra should have more darker skin color than Alexander, but not the same as thier mom's.

I love their skintone and that was never the problem for me or even their ethnicity, but in my opinion Alexander looked way better when he aged up to teen and young adult, until they did the refresh for Goths family, now he looks like the NPC game generated Sims. Don Lothario got a great glow-up/improvement though, in my opinion.

The problem I have their supposed to be mixed.I don't like how Alexander grow up either.

The Goths are not mixed, they are caucasians so their skin colour will resemble that of either parent's depending on dominant genes, it will not be a half and half mixure of it. Much like how when a black person has a baby with a blue eyed blond person and the baby comes up as blue eyed blond instead of the expected lighter shade of black.

@Horrorgirl6 Yes and no. In the original Sims game, she was East Asian. Starting in Sims 2, she was ethno-racially ambiguous. She's never been canon Caucasian, but, since the Sims 2 era, she hasn't been canon not-Caucasian. In all previous versions, she and Mortimer had different coloring, though.

I always consider her either black or latina.Based on Sims 3 coloring
  • Pretty sure the Goths are Middle Eastern. Maybe Mediterranean. Not sure.

I kinda like the new Goths despite Alexander's age-up debacle. They're a lot closer to their Sims 1/2/3 counterparts.
  • I always assumed that the Goths were European, like Spanish or Italian. Because you know, their name is Goth and that makes me think of Visigoths or Ostrogoths.
  • I'll just say that while there's official lore or canon, the nice thing is that you can interpret them in any way that you want. My opinion is that once they go into your game, they are yours and they have whatever background or backstory you want. Admittedly, different characters or pre-mades appeal to different players and might inspire them differently. I think they've tried to make the gameplay more inclusive for different types of players.

You really can do whatever you want to personalize the sims in your game. I think the Goths are iconic characters so they really can belong to any ethnic or racial background that a player wants.

Most of the original sims died out in my main game long ago though some of the pre-mades have blended into my game as they interacted with sims I made. I understand that they want to inspire some simmers who might not have previously connected with the series. There are also different gaming subcultures for The Sims that they try to appeal to in the different packs.

I just play my game and I do not mind how other players want to play theirs. I do think that if you really want a different look, it's possible to make your own new household in the way that you want to and move them in.
