I don't usually watch any reviews, because I end up deciding there's enough offered in the pack to buy it. But with this SW pack, meh. Can I say, I'm trying to keep an open mind?
Wasn't impressed with CAS. I love the build items (a lot can be used for many of my story purposes totally unrelated to Star Wars). The world looks great -- for a Disney-style themed "experience." But, it appears it's just a rinse-and-repeat a la Realm of Magic. So many buildings that are just shells that you can't enter (even in rabbit hole fashion, which I detest, but still...that'd at least be something).
Edited to add: Plumbella is showing how the storyline progresses -- she says it's "repetitive," which is exactly what I feared. Seems like Strangerville reskinned: "click this," "go here," "click this," and repeat. smh
Just one question to all of you simmers who were so pumped for this Star Wars pack: why?
I was pumped but also cautious. Pumped because of the general theme. I wanted sci-fi, I like Star Wars, I don't mind brand collabs/advertisement, I'm not a 'purist' -- all I want for it is to be fun. And it could have been. Gameplay trailers are never enlightening for me anyway, so up until the second trailer I was still hoping it would be. Seeing the videos on youtube now gives me a better idea and I was right to be cautious because it's exactly what I feared it could be. My disappointment has nothing to do with the theme they chose or with it being an advertisement. I'm glad they chose a theme I find interesting. Just wish they executed it better.
