Pools are boring.

I agree pools are dull. Bring back Timle Tourneau (Marco polo) from sims 2, bring back slides and floated and things to do in the water like holding your breathe underwater and floating.

I love pools in the game you also need to take note that pools are a major part of the sims game sure in sims4 they where added in a patch but if you look at the sims1 sims2 and sims3 they are base game items and story wise if you start chosing the summer season in sims4 and is very hot and your story required your sims to purchase a pool for your story you would only have to enter build mode and build the family pool if you have the space

I like swimming because it's a good way for Sims to build fitness (child Sims to build Motor Skill). I would like to have some pool equipment like a pool slide (we have the sliding animation for toddlers with the mini slide in Toddler Stuff, just need to add it for the other ages). Maybe if we get bunk beds (which would require the ladder animation) we can get a pool slide (also a regular playground slide would be nice). A pool waterfall would also be nice; maybe couples could duck behind it for pool woohoo. >:) And floating toys like inflatable tubes and pool loungers. If we get a beach pack maybe we can get beach volleyball and pool volleyball.

It doesn't do much. A sim (any age) can click another sim and ask to be taught to swim/offer to teach swimming. Then the student goes on swimming normally while the teacher sits down at the pool's edge and gesticulates. When pools got introduced I was very exited about the feature, but it got old pretty quick.

Still love pools, couldn't imagine my game without them (those early pool-less weeks were hard), but, yes, they need much more love by the devs! I'm especially wishing for shallower pools where sims do other things than swim. Visit any hotel pool and you'll find only a few people actually swimming in them. It's more bathing and relaxing.

Pools definitely need some love. Having played Sims Freeplay before buying Sims 4, it was a real downgrade in terms of pool interactions, can you believe? In Freeplay, there are various water slides (curved and straight ones!), diving boards that comes with a diving hobby (the kind that looks like a plank), inflatable pool furniture, lifeguard chair, lounge chairs, more pools-specific interactions between sims including romantic ones and a vollyball net that you place in the pool where up to four sims can play vollyball! There are even towels that you lay on the side where you can sunbathe and relax.

The pool gets dirty if you don't clean it for a few days and sims refuse to swim in it if it isn't cleaned. Which makes for more immersive gameplay (haha, immersive :sweat: ) As this is a freemium game we're talking about, you can buy a pool-cleaning robot to do the task for you. Oh and I like how you can build an island in the middle of the pool that sims have to swim to.

So yes, remembering that I can get all this on Freeplay reminds me why some aspects of Sims 4 can feel a bit hollow at times and why I spend more time in CAS and build mode. I do prefer 4 a lot more overall, I mean the whole enjoyment in Sims comes from the creation aspect of it for me, but yeah I don't think a paid version of a game should have so much less than the free version sometimes.

Most fun I've had with a pool is in a house where I just went through the gauntlet of raising an infant to child and two Yorkies and their puppy... Things were not feeling all that 'fun'. When the toddler suddenly became chunky I aged her into a child so she could get some exercise, and since it was turning to winter I thought I'd try an indoor pool in the basement rec-room. Added the bubbles too - which was pretty cool since now steam and bubbles were present...

So, I get done and it's a steaming addition to the corner of the basement, and I 'tell' the child to swim in it. Then I look over and the two little dogs are hopping around at the edge of the pool (so I'm afraid they'll drown or something!), then suddenly they jump in, swim around, jump out, jump back in ...rinse and repeat. It was a hoot and I was laughing aloud to myself in the middle of the night like a crazy woman. :D :D :D :D

Maybe an awesome ts4 modder can make us pool floaties lol. It's insane how much I rely on mods to make my game playable.

Why is ts4 like this. It just makes me feel like EAxis is cheating us. I want to love ts4 but there's so much missing and I feel like such a fool for supporting it monetarily.
