I'm actually excited about the laundry pack and will get it even though we all know itll take sims about a week to go through the actions but what happened to the design of the machines? Sims 3 had washers with the top opening and dryers door on the side. Here they just gave up and duplicated the same machine for both. Lazy.

I think it might be so kids can have access to the controls? Not sure how that works with the stacked ones.

Its been explained why they did front load already. It saves animation time. As a result, children are now able to do laundry, and you can stack machines to save space. Definitely a fair trade off.It has nothing to do with laziness.

And to think, they could have use that same animation to load the pedal powered washing machine, and then added in exercise bikes and the animation for them would be how the pedal powered machine would work. :/

This is how 99.9% of washing machines look that's manufacturered after 1980.
At least in Europe.

In Brazil it's the opposite, top-loaders are more common. Usually front-loaders are either dryers or all-in-one washer + dryer combos. I've never seen a front-loader washer (without dryer) here. But I'm happy with what we get in this pack! :)

I don't care about laundry in the game but will say that I have both a front-loading washer and dryer IRL. And it is good that they made this choice for the game, how else would you be able to stack them?

I don't think he does. If there is a set amount of resources for animations then they're just allocating those animations to give us the best pack possible within budget constraints.
