My household has a toploader. Elsewhere I have encountered way more frontloaders than toploaders. I have problem with neither, but I always liked how frontloaders nicely stack and save space. I would say the dev team prioritized well when they chose to have similar designs for washers and driers as they wanted to focus on other animations.
