Possible Scientist career bug? SOLVED (mostly)

UPDATE: ok, I think I've mostly solved it. My sim was living in San Myshuno when she started the Scientist career then I moved her to Palomino Junction in Chestnut Ridge into a house I downloaded from the gallery (after doing a "save as" before the move), which is when the problem started. Not sure if it's the house or the lot itself but I went back into the San Myshuno save and so far my sim has returned home from work with no problem. Now to figure out which it is, house or lot.
