Potion of youth not working

i became an old person (my hairs are white now) i have used it my appereance has not changed but i have realised that she was alive longer. so as some friends said before, maybe it is only resetting the time in current age. if its not like this (please confirm that it has worked for you and changed the appereance also) confirm it

Potion of youth only resets the current life stage to 0.
I would like the ability to steal other sims youth to actually set your stage back as a witch power if magic ever comes.
Edit: for nonwitchiness same mechanic could be accessed from a fountain of youth in a hidden location like the glade
