Price discrepancy with The Sims 4 Lovestruck expansion pack

The Sims 4 Lovestruck expansion pack became available for preorder today and I notice that it costs more than any other Sims 4 expansion pack. Expansion packs cost $50 NZ and they still show this as their full price, but Lovestruck is available for a whopping $70 NZ. This is higher than coverting US $40 to NZ $. A quick search has indicated that Lovestruck is still $40 in the US, the same as the other expansion packs, so why has it increased in New Zealand? I assume this is an error and hope to bring it to EA's attention so that it can be fixed soon.

    Hey all,

We sometimes have to adjust prices based on changes in currency, which is why you may have noticed prices go up or down for The Sims 4 packs.

Impact is based on local currency; in some countries prices remained the same, while in others prices went up. The Sims 4 Expansion, Game, Stuff Pack and Kits pricing is consistent with both EA's and other major publishers' approach for each region.

  • Now that the sale is over, I noticed that it's no longer just the Lovestruck ep that's now $70.  For Rent and Horse Ranch have also gone up.  So, if you bought them when they came out you would have got them cheaper than if you want to buy them now!

  • The same is happening in South Africa. Lovestruck is on preorder sale for R699.95, whereas all of the other EPs are R649.95. A R50 increase isn't a lot, but it adds up. Earlier this year, Crystal Creations was released at a higher price than the other SPs, but was reduced back to normal price. The 4 most recent Kits have also released at a higher price than the others, but haven't been reduced. I know that it probably has something due to currency exchange, but it's still really annoying, and I don't think it's right to increase the prices. ☹️ Please please please EA can you lower them to the normal price!

When I saw the receipt for Lovestruck in email as either my son or dil bought it for me that the price was different from the previious price in CAD$ I went to my bank's exchange rate entered the USD$ and asked to be converted to CAD$ the difference was under 6$ including taxes

So Like EA Cade stated its based on the currency rate

Next pack kit you buy just check with the exchange rate for your country to see what it should be and then add your countries taxes also and if not happy with the price then wait for a sale

There is nothing any company can do about prices when they need to factor in other countries currency rate

If the USD  is lower or higher then your country would be great if prices were the same from one country to another but not

So true!! Here in Poland, all packs are priced for a much higher amount than what USD converts to PLN. Just a couple weeks ago there was finally some movement in legality, and EA was reprimanded for overcharging us for the game. Now Lovestruck is cheaper by a whooping amount of... 10 PLN. Looove to see it...
