I get it but I think they should work on it. I just had an adult sim send a flirty message about a teenage on social bunny. That’s creepy!

I don't think it's strictly a bug. It's just how it's created. Social Bunny is based on a fixed group of preset phrases which was written with teens in mind. No matter who is having Social Bunny account. Phrases will always be the same. I was testing this expansion with Harris household. I gave Social Bunny accounts to Granny, Dad and Jeb. All were adding contacts of their own age group. All have absolutely the same set of messages/DMs in their timeline in the end. Elders were writing about proms, adults were DMing to "besties" and so on. This system just does not take age or real events into account. There will be complaints about prom in the middle of the week. Or once Jeb received incredibly rude message from his granny out of the blue while they are almost +100 in their relationships. It's just rng.
By the way speaking of Harris family I've remembered that with new expansion I saw a bug with them which I later managed to replicate with other families (the one from Tartosa and Spencer-Kim-Lewis). When a child is selecting their grandparents to chat an option "adopt as a caregiver" appears. Which normally only appears for YA+ on adopted children. And it appears only on grandparents, for parents everything is fine and as usual.
