It may depend on the state on how they break up the grades.
One place I lived had grades pre-k to 6th grade, and merged 7-12th grade together in the same building.
Another place I lived had grades split with pre-k to about 5th grade, with 6-8th grade as its own middle school building, and 9-12th grade as a high school.
Also, in my high school, if you were a freshmen that scored well with math, you could take the more advance grade for it.
With Sims it is kind of hard to pinpoint what system they are using.
I know. My math score was such I was advised by the High School counselors to enroll in Algerbra-1 instead of Pre-Algebra. Turns out that's what Mr. Spellmeyer was teaching us. I realized this because the first semester of Algebra-1 was REVIEW for me. :open_mouth:
Yeah, where you can be placed in high school an be a bit different. Even if you are a freshman, and score well, you can end up taking junior or senior math classes.
Another interesting thing is that some grades had levels, you had honors classes, normal classes, and lower classes. I don't think it was all schools, but my school did that.
First quarter of my freshman year, I went with three of my friends (whom I knew were smart). They wanted to check the list for Honor Roll. Then they urged me to see if my name was there. I deferred thinking there was no way, but then one of them pointed me out on the list! To say I was gob-smacked is an understatement. I just didn't believe in myself.
I wasn't officially in honors classes, mostly in the normal classes, except for math. Math was my worst subject.
I did work hard and make the honors list, though, more than once. I found out, because my school did a thing where they listed students who got honors, and I was listed on there.
I kind of wish we could have something for the Sims that allow us to customize schools for the Sims. For example, make Snowy Escape similar to the Japan type schooling. Since their school structure is different.
I would just like the schools in Sims to be less generic, and give our Sim teens more stuff to do.
