There are two styles of Tea Set, one English (cups have handles), one Chinese/Asian (no handles on cups). Both have three swatches, with two patterned and a plain swatch on each. Both serve 6 cups of tea for $90, so that works out at $15 per cup.
Once poured, tea can be handed out to individual sims via the "Serve tea to..." interaction. Only adults/elders showed in the sim picker while playing the Spencer-Kim-Lewis household, so kids can't be served tea either.
Kids can, however, serve themselves tea from a cup that has been poured, via the "Drink" interaction.
There's no "Grab tea together" interaction while grouped, nor is there a "Call to grab drink" option on the cups or tray, so you have to manually serve individuals by routing to them with a cup. The recipient stands up from where they were sitting to meet you.
Tea sets can be used while on counters, dining tables, coffee tables and kotatsu dining tables. They can also be placed and used on the floor/ground. Animations make the most sense on dining tables and counters due to the height. I haven't tested other surfaces.
Sims can't steep/pour tea while seated, they stand up to do so instead.
Once they have tea in their hands sims will sit down and chat autonomously while drinking tea.
Different teas give different moodlets. Orange Blossom Tea and Black Dragon Tea give a 4 hr +2 Focused moodlets. Cosy Apple Juice Tea gives a 4 hr +2 Happy moodlet. Base game Smooth Sipping/Disappointing Drink moodlets are also possible.
The only teas available are those that were shown in the stream. Unsure if this is intentional or an oversight. The set is missing base game Steamy Ginseng, Yerba Mate (JA), Ginger Detox (SD) and Bee Tea/Spiced Cider from Seasons (when compared to the base game tea maker).
Tea has no ingredients, but can be made on a lot with Simple Living Lot Challenge enabled (tested on Retail lot).
Tea sets ARE NOT portable, but they ARE live draggable, so you can move them around your lot without having to build mode or buy additional sets for different seating areas.
