Question about buttlers

Hi! Just quick question, do buttlers have needs? My buttler lives in my sims house and I can’t ever dismiss her and I don’t have a bedroom for her, does she need one?

Thank you!

  • Butlers don't have the full set of needs as regular Sims; all they really need is Sleep, Fun, and Hunger. A butler only goes away if you intend to dismiss their services and no longer need them, so unless you no longer want your butler, they will continue to hang around your home. Technically, butlers don't really need you to provide them a bed, I haven't seen it with any of mine but if they become too tired they may leave the lot for some time and come back eventually, though it is much nicer to provide your butler with a nice bed! :)

Yes, you're supposed to provide a bed for the butler, and I've always done that. But for some reason my butlers (almost) never seem to sleep. The only time I've seen one sleep was on a sofa in my sim's house, even though I had a bed assigned to her.

    It won’t open :(
  • Give a personal room and door locks to them, then set the bed inside. Make sure no radios there because they don't understand how to turn off a radio (in my case). I even provide them with a small kitchen because they love to cook and no, my cooking is almost always impeccable and no spoil so no thanks but since there is no option I just have to put up with it.

Oh, they love to drink too. Give them the globe bar and a gaming platform ? Praise them occasionally for the reality of it.

Dismiss them by phone, I think it's on the same category as hire a service. If you're still wondering.
  • Last time I had a butler, he kept jumping into the pool and walking around cleaning with his bathing suit on. And he RARELY slept. I did have a room and bed for him but hardly uses it.

I have a really nice old lady for a butler and does everything I expect her to do, drinks a bit heavily though but that's alright, and even cooks excellent-quality big meals for the mansion. I've only ever seen her become too tired when she's been up the entire day tending the garden and doing all the general housework.
