- Its clothing and object recolors for in your game. Maxis Match cc or custom content is items that look like the same art style as the items Maxis provided in game. Non Maxis Match, or "Alpha" cc (custom content) is stuff that looks a little more realistic. If you type in google "how to sims 4 cc" you should be able to get a full explaination/tutorial on how to add it and such.
- TY. Do all of these have the capability of 'breaking' when there are new updates?

There are occasions when that can happen, but I haven't had it happen all too much. I don't know much about the workings of CC, so I can't say what will break the CC. I do have some "old" CC clothes that look "shiny" and "metallic" now. And sometimes I will find that my older CC now makes my sim turn half red and half white. Those are common signs of broken CC.
I recommend only downloading items from active creators who will post fixes for any future updates. "joRN1414;c-18011585" wrote:

@joRN1414
I most cases, custom clothing and objects won’t break with every patch, although they can. (There was a recent ish instance of all cc chairs breaking) More complicated stuff that adds new interactions or modifies existing ones more is more likely to break. There is basically no way, if it does break, that it will break your save, and you can always remove it.- Thank you, y'all.
- It's a custom content for the game. Sims use two words for the custom content.
MODS is the content that requires a script, and often changes/adds things to gameplay - from making your Sim brushing their teeth faster, to adding the whole attraction system, you can find almost anything you want. However, because they need the script, they need to be checked, and usually updated after every patch.
CC stands for the content that doesn't require a script, only textures and meshes. Which is why it rarely breaks - even the recent 'break' of chairs didn't really mess up chair themselves, what changed was the 'routing' towards them, i.e. Sims would wave at you that they can't reach them and sit at them. Once that was fixed, chairs worked as before.
The red and black question mark face/invisible part of the body happens when you miss proper meshes or textures - e.g. the thing you put in the Mods folder is a RECOLOR of another thing - you need to download that, too.
'MM' or 'alpha' are the styles in which the custom content is made. 'MM' means 'Maxis match', i.e. things that match the style of the original stuff in the game.
'Alpa' is more photorealistic.
(It should depend on your own preference, but if you want to share your Sims and post screenshots online at any forum, stick to MM or grow a very thick skin. Most of Sim players not only hate alpha, but are very proud and vocal about it and will hurry to tell you just how much they despise and dislike your alpha creations and you. Yes, talking from my own countless experiences with Sims "community".)
Sims4Studio is a software that helps with creation and management of both mods and CC. It's a must for any CC and mods users, because if the CC is broken, Sims4Studio will often release a batch fix, so even if you download older stuff, it can be fixed. - Thank you @Ventisquear I appreciate the info. I don't think I will be making any, but I may start using it. Toddler stuff, jewelry, and PJ's are really lacking.
