Question about Island Living: How long do tans last?

how do you cheat it away? I wanted to do that because my sim got a tan and her hair color matches the color of the tan and it looks kinda weird... i'd rather cheat it than wait haha

the tan feature is cool but i think it should be a little weaker and shorter, it looks stupid in some clothes :/
