Question? Aging up

I have not played my game in well over a year. However, a couple of days ago I dusted off my laptop and created a new family to play. Made them young adults in CAS but when I loaded them in my game, I noticed that they were only 2 days away from aging up to adults. Why is this happening and how can I change it?

So does this happen automatically now, and can you turn it off while making your sims so thy will start at the beginning of the age?

@NRowe I haven't seen any mention of this feature-- when was it added?

Edit: I did see a note on answers.ea.com by SimGuruNick saying that in fall 2018 the age spans were randomized slightly but that it should only account for a day or two.

There is a 2021 post on these forums saying that MCCC has an option to randomize age. I wonder if those posting here with the issue may have that option enabled on MCCC by accident?

Anyhow, to @marleenw51 , I would try without MCCC first and then without all mods, and see if removing the mods fixes your issue.
  • I believe they changed some of the number of days in the age spans. They decreased the baby, toddler, young adult and adult by 1 day in short span, decreased baby by 1 day in normal span but increased teen by 8 days and adult by 9 days. In the long span they decreased baby, young adult and adult by 8 days. The elders now have days instead of being varied as they were before. If you search for age span change in sims 4 in patch before high school years you can see the charts comparing the 2. I think doing that probably affected some of the ages in the game of those sims we already had. I assume they did it to give teens a longer life span for the pack. I usually play with aging off so hopefully this new change won't affect my sims.
