- halimali10 years agoSeasoned AceOP No, OFB had all the awesome features. GTW is a very half baked EP. Every single feature in this pack is so half baked. Seriously every thing about.
- 8Faith810 years agoSeasoned AdventurerI do what everyone else is saying - work and live on your retail lot. Pay bills on your phone or computer. Don't forget to lock the door to the residential area!
If you have a job, your sim will get sent back to the residential lot and you will have to travel back to the retail lot. Obviously the annoying load screen will be there..... - Historicgal10 years agoSeasoned VeteranThank you all, guess the best way to take care of that is to have a single Sim own the business. It really gets to be a pain sending them home all the time an in a few minutes send them back to play the game right
- Can't you build a retail-like lot on a residential lot, and then switch it in build mode for the days you want to work and then switch it to residential on the days you don't? I never tried it, but it might work. *shrugs*
I did this with venues. I had one big super mall that I changed in build mode while actively at the lot. Never ran into an issue with doing it like that. - Lustianicia10 years agoSeasoned AceNope. The developers decided that "You Rule" in Sims 4, so to prove that, they decide to have the game tell you what you can or can't do. It's EA and Maxis logic.
- My entire family lives at their bakery. I simply maintain an empty lot (like the others say) and pay the bills at the bakery. Mail is delivered there for me with no problems and when the kids get home from school they go to the empty lot and I just have them hop over to the bakery.
It really is no problem. I sometimes forget I even have an empty lot. When going on vacation or on a family outing I will sometimes get confused when the game sends them to that lot afterwards but I am really having no problems running the business completely from the commercial plot. My adult sims do not maintain other employment at the moment either. It is a complete, family run bakery.
Looove it and is as much OFB style as possible. I think. - You can put a mail box in the retail lot
That will solve te bills problem "Ponder_the_Sim;14076121" wrote:

That joke is getting a bit stale don't you think? :P
that joke will forever be ripe- Historicgal10 years agoSeasoned VeteranGoing to try it and see what happens lol. The only thing that could is I have to reinstall again which is no big problem. Thank you all for the comments, it really had me confused for a bit.

It will never get old. At least not when the game has weird limitations that go directly against it's slogan.
"You Rule™!"
But you can't do houses with split leveling!
You can't switch between Sims on different lots without loading!
You can't trust your Sim to do what you assigned them to do if you leave them alone on a lot!
You can't edit the world!
You like a particular household? Too bad because the game will remove them automatically if it feels like it!
"And remember, in The Sims 4 You Rule™!"
It's like TS4's marketing department never played the game. It was obnoxious to see them insist that Sims never had emotions in the previous games but I would take the pre-release "EMOSHUNZZZ!" marketing over this - at least it was partly true.
