Question!! I need help with editing relationships.

Hey, I like to download things off the gallery and put them into my game. Or edit already in game sims. My issue is that I cannot make a new family that I am downloading and combining into the same house.... I cannot make them husband and wife. It will not allow me. It says cannot edit premade sims or something to that effect. There have been occasions where I was able to edit husband/wife. But I do not know what I did to allow this to occur and cannot repeat it. Does anyone know any workarounds for this issue. And also, this question has been an issue for me for a couple of days and I hope I did not post this same question two times. I did check a bit to see if I did and did not find any. But if you know of any links, or websites that offer any insight into how to make sims husband and wife that you downloaded from gallery I would much appreciate. And I am on console Xbox one if that matters or not, I do not know. I usually post in the PC section because in console section I usually do not get a response, or the response takes a long while to receive.

    @JustinB113 Thanks, I read about that as I have been researching it a bit, and cas full edit did not allow me to make them husband wife either. Instead, it allowed me only to edit and make a brother sister. I will try the cheat again and see if i can get it to work. Does it matter where you put in the cheat at like for example can i put it in once I'm already in cas. Or do I have to like play as the family I want to edit and put the cheat during gameplay and then go into cas after that. ??

    I wanted a wife for my male sim. I went into regular CAS and added a sim from the gallery, and then put her as wife. It worked fine. I've done it a few times since. Sometimes you don't need cheats.

    @JustinB113 Hello, Im still wondering about that cass full edit cheat as a way to get to sims husband and wife. Can you answer a few questions i have? Do I need to pick who I want to edit first and move them into a house together then use the cheat and enter cas? Like take two sims already living in one of my worlds move them in together then play as them long enough to enter cheat and enter cas would that allow this to work?? Or is there another menu or screen i should be at when entering the cheat and entering cas...thank you for your time ? Im just still unclear on how this works, and like I mentioned I had trouble getting it to work before you even told me about it.

    @AlienTusks I usually go into the family I want to change in CAS as active play. Then I type the testingcheats on cheat, then cas.fulleditmode. Then you can press shift and click onto a family member and click modify in cas. The whole family will be in CAS for you to change. I have done this when I first entered the lot, so no need to play the family before doing this.

    @maggiemae8135 OK thanks for the info but i figured it out on my own not long ago...its a bit different on console. thanks anyway

    Oh sorry. Wasn't thinking about console vs pc. Glad you were able to figure it out!

    I think the only way would be to recreate those sims in CAS, maybe creating heir sibling (twin if possible). The new versions of your sims should easily be given new relations.

    Take them into cas.fulleditmode. Open the cheat window, first, and type in testingcheats true, then enter. Type in cas.fulleditmode and enter. Then select a Sim (Ctrl and then select your Sim while holding down the Ctrl button at the same time) and choose Modify? in CAS. This will bring in your family to CAS and you should be able to tweak the relationships. I have created a family before and failed to designate the parents are husband and wife. It's really odd when playing them once placed to learn they have five children and aren't even in a marriage. :open_mouth: Taking them back into CAS the way I suggested has allowed me to designate the relationship. Only problem is, when returned to the game they'll get the newlywed moodlet. If that happens and it bugs you, you may wish to save them to your My Library and start a brand new save.

    @Annie2008 I think I know how to do this now. I put in the cheat any time that gameplay is occurring but not in cas. then I go to the family's house, or edit them, or even play them then either use the a plus b button cheat or go to a mirror and change sim. I did this the other day with a family I was going to edit then upload to the gallery. It would allow me to make fiancé/husband/wife etc. But something that kept happening was once i made the parents husband and wife, one of the daughters kept returning back to household member, and if I went and changed her to daughter, then the parents' husband/wife relationship was changed. I'm not sure what the issue was, but I'm learning more about how to do this now so it's not really an issue anymore.
