They will keep their same appearances, but as already mentioned, the dark form will be completely random, only thing possible to change will be the outfit, accessories etc. If your sim's dark form looks like Nosferatu, then that's what you'll be stuck with. xD
This isn't true. Aside from weight, which can be accessed through cas.fulleditmode, you can alter every aspect of your sim's physical dark form appearance via the edit household interface in world management. You can change eyes, fangs, skin color, drag and pull body and facial feature and even alter their voice. Yes, you can have a separate voice for your vampire's dark form. And, if none of that suits your fancy, you can delete the sim's dark form entirely.
@OEII1001 Oh, tell me how! I'm a very realistic player, but I want to incorporate vampires into my game as a weird "cult" that's luring in new members. I want a few of my sims to "join the cult" but I don't really want their appearance altered.
Yesterday, I played around in CAS and created a vampire. I had problems. :( I was never able to get her to look fully human even though I always use cas.fulleditmode. If I can have vampires that look human at all times, I would be very happy! I think ideally I would want my sims' dark forms to be the same as their human form except that their voice would change.
Go to the manage world interface and select the household with the vampire in question. Once in CAS, click on the portrait. Above the normal portrait should be the dark form portrait. Click on it. On that portrait there will be a small X in the upper right corner, just like the one used to completely delete a sim. Click on it to delete the dark form. Your vampire will then only have one form. If you ever want one back you can use the option to create it again.
Thank you for the information. I was able to go back through Household Management to the vampire I created yesterday, and yes, I was able to give her a fully human appearance. I feel much more comfortable now in allowing a few of my sims to join this "strange new cult".
Cool, becareful playing as a vampire can be addictive.
The only time I've ever tried it before was in Sims 2, and it was awful! I couldn't keep my vampire alive. I finally gave up. Even though I'm a realistic player, I do like to find ways to incorporate occult elements into my game. My aliens are "psychics" -- which provides for some very interesting storylines. Now my vampires can be part of this weird cult, and I think it will be fun. If it doesn't work out, I can just pass a law banning all cults LOL. It's nice to have control.
