Random finger guns at other sim(s)?

So I recently moved one of my sims back in with his parents (a much bigger house), and when the dad came into his room to chat with him he did a quick double finger-gun pose, which the son mimicked back (while seated btw). I've never seen this gesture on any other sims before, and I checked and the dad has the 'insider' trait so I'm wondering if it's connected to that? Can anyone confirm?

    It is connected to the insider trait. I’ve played with sims that have that trait and they do that all the time. It’s a bit annoying if you ask me.

    Ah okay I wasn't for sure if it was from that trait, but was the first time seeing it.
