randomly generated townie love
i've noticed most people dislike randomly generated townies, and it's not hard to see why, given their tendency to be spawned with... questionable outfits. but i think they deserve some love
what i love about these townies is that when your sim befriends them, their questionable attire becomes somewhat normal after a while. for example, i had a sim living in the Spice District, and she had a friend who would come over and play console games with her. he wore a black and white top with yellow pants (i don't remember his shoes, they were probably awful). at first, the outfit was jarring. he was seriously wearing that? but after a while, once he became a constant in my game and my sim's life, i started to get used to it. and i realised how much i actually preferred townies who wear random outfits to ones that are always fashionable and always perfect. the unique clothing choices really add more character to the randomly generated townies. it makes them seem more like real people, specifically those cool people you'd see in the city who are wearing something so wonderful and out of the blue that you can't help but admire and almost envy them for their confidence in themselves. you know? those people. and those people are the ones i want in my game
i started making my own townies for my game and i always try to keep an element of originality and uniqueness in their look, whether it be their clothes or their face. most of the time i get inspiration from randomly generated townies
so thank you, randomly generated townies, for being inspiring and wonderful-- to me at least, if to no one else. this one's for you
